When you are searching for office space one of the most obvious and most important considerations is how you will get your team to the workplace. 

One of the very many benefits of locating your business in Manchester City Centre is that your employees will be able to benefit from strong public transport links. 

You could be faced, however, with staff who travel long distances to get to work, staff who do not live near to public transport at ‘their end’, or staff whose job roles demand that they drive to work. 

What to do then?

Some Manchester buildings have car parking built beneath them, some do not.  As a listed building, Piccadilly House does not have any on site, but we are able to offer discounted season and daily rate tickets at a secure NCP just opposite the building, and the building does have good road access for deliveries.  One of the main benefits of Piccadilly House’s location, however, is that it obviously benefits from being 4 minutes on foot away from Piccadilly Mainline station and from being 2 minutes on foot away from tram and bus links. 

When you find a city centre location which has car parking you need, do check some things out before you make your decision to be based in the office space there.  One constant factor throughout, however, will be that it is always at the driver’s risk, no matter where the vehicle is parked: 

  • How many spaces do they actually have and how many can they offer you? 
  • Which exact spaces are they offering you?  
  • Will they be dedicated to you?
  • Are they able to work with you to allow more than one of your team to use the same space (time-share or space-pooling)?
  • Will you be able to use the spaces 24/7?
  • How long are they offering them to you for?
  • What size of vehicle is it easy to get into the space provided?
  • How much are they proposing to charge you for each space per month? 
  • Would that be charged to your company or could it be charged to the individual?
  • Do they have CCTV on the car park? 
  • Is it manned?
  • Do they do daily rates? 
  • Do they offer visitor parking spaces? 
  • Are visitor spaces chargeable to you as the occupier being visited? 
  • How far away from the building are your spaces? 
  • How far away from the building are the guest spaces?

Our City View House location, just off the Mancunian Way/Ring Road is unusual in that it’s accessible on foot from Manchester City Centre , is easy to reach by road, and has a large number of car parking spaces available for tenants and for visitors.
